Eco Design Approved
The Defra approved Snug 5 is one of the most up to date and cleanest multi-fuel stoves sold in the UK. It has been tested and approved to meet the new Ecodesign requirements that will be mandatory for all stoves, making this a stove for now and for the future.
This model not only meets but exceeds the government's tough requirements by some distance; many stoves do not pass the test at all, with fewer passing on both wood and smokeless fuel. All test results have been carried out by Kiwa Gastec in Cheltenham, UK - a leader in their field. Find out more about the Ecodesign scheme at stoveindustryalliance.com.
No Compromise
The Snug 5 is unique in the way it is able to cleanly and efficiently burn both wood and smokeless coal in the same stove and will included a newly developed fuel grate, designed for burning wood and smokeless coal n an efficient way. Wood likes to burn on a flat base with air flowing over the top and minimal air underneath. The air controls on the fire allow you to completely cut off the primary air under the fire whilst leaving the secondary/tertiary air open. If you decide to burn smokeless coal the vents allow the primary air to be fully open letting air rush under the fire whilst the secondary / tertiary air is almost fully cut off independently; perfect for the needs of smokeless coal combustion.
Technology
The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell - effectively another stove inside the stove, where air is drawn in from the stove's rear, fed between these two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire at the rear, through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass. This heating effect speeds the air up and is the most effective way of keeping the glass clean. In our attached video you can see the curtain of air descend on the glass as the vent is opened. Practical and truly wonderful to watch.
The Snug 5 is a multi-fuel stove and has a primary lever on the left and secondary / tertiary lever on the right. Both levers are finished off with tactile brushed steel grips that remain cool. The Snug 5 has a 30mm thick virgin ore cast iron door that helps retain and slowly release the heat into the room in conjunction with the stove's thick steel body. This unit benefits from a tall and durable log retainer, unique baffle design, full fire brick lining and quality ash pan that has all four sides folded. As with all Ecosy+ products, it is well designed and engineered but not over-complicated. Too often stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. This stove not only excels in the test lab but is easy to use and reliable in the real world. We confidently offer a 7 year warranty on this product .
DEFRA Approved
The Snug 5 has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in a smoke controlled zones. Defra approved stoves with 5" flue outlets, like this one, can also be installed with a 5" liner.
Custom Finish
This unique colour is a firm favourite of everyone at Stove World UK HQ and works wonderfully with the brass handles that come as standard. This version will be hand-finished by stove professionals here at Stove World UK. The whole unit will be stripped and repainted with the highest quality Calfire paint. Calfire is well respected in the industry becaus

Why Are We So Cheap?
People often ask us how are prices are so cheap, and we understand why. We design and make a large amount of our products, including the Ecosy+ brand, and they come direct from our factory to us. This means we can effectively sell multi-fuel wood burning stoves at trade prices direct to the public. We can stock over 2,500 wood burning and Multi-Fuel stoves at any one time and ship direct to the customer with no showrooms. If you’re thinking of purchasing a Snug stove, we suggest you take a look at our glowing feedback gained over 12 years on our site, Trust Pilot, Google, eBay and numerous social media platforms.
Crystal Clear Glass
As mentioned in the technology section the air is drawn into the fire low down at the stoves rear. The air races up and over the stoves chamber increasing in speed as it travels until it is unveiled and drops like a curtain over the stoves glass. This can be seen in action on the video attached at the start of this listing. This system is proven to be a very effective way of keeping the glass clean and clear of smoke stains providing the wood burnt is well seasoned.
Low Emissions
ClearSkies Rating 5
The highly prized clearSkies 5 mark of excellence tells you that no stove is kinder to the environment. It is an independently assessed endorsement that your stove exceeds all of the latest UK regulations. We fully support the government's EcoDesign directive to ensure all stoves comply with strict environmental measures.
Laboratory Tested
Any stove that has a clearSkies accreditation has been demonstrated to meet scrupulous safety standards for carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions as well as environmental pollution rules that limit the emission of particulate matter (PM) and organic gaseous compounds (OGC). And that's just the lowest of the clearSkies ratings!
Exceeds All Standards
The Snug 5kw has been awarded the highest possible clearSkies mark. The Number 5 tells you it is approved by Defra, the goverment's Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Furthermore, it has been tested under laboratory conditions to be even more environmentally friendly than EcoDesign stoves. A rating of 4 means reducing CO, PM, OGC and NOx by a factor of 15% better than the EcoDesign pass mark. And the rating of 5 indicates an additional 15% environmental improvement. So you can feel confident that your new stove has been designed and built for a sustainable, greener future.
