About The Vista 500 Oval/Cylindrical Stove

This advanced wood burning stove has been designed by our sister company Ecosy Stoves of Hampshire and incorporates all the best bits from their current model range. Having sold tens of thousands of stoves, Ecosy has utilised all they have learned to create a reliable, stylish and efficient stove.

This version of the Hampton Vista 500 stove has been reimagined with curved sides, for those looking for a cylindrical, round, or oval stove for their freestanding setup. A huge benefit of this stove, in our view, is its beautifully curved, oval design that still incorporates a flat piece of glass. This is a detail many might overlook, but it can be seen as a real advantage, as flat heat-resistant glass is often much cheaper and easier to replace than curved glass if accidentally broken. It’s a stove where you get the look without the additional potential costs further down the line. The Hampton Vista 500 also comes in a pedestal, and wide version, and all variations are perfectly designed for a freestanding installation.

Features on this stove far exceed models that cost north of £1000. Its huge heat-resistant ceramic glass front gives an uninterrupted view of the fire, which is on the tick list of almost every stove buyer. The hidden gem of this stove is its internal shell, effectively another stove inside the stove. Air is drawn in from the stove's rear, fed between two layers of steel and precisely dispersed over the fire through a series of holes inside the chamber. Having the air introduced high up in the chamber is an effective way of re-burning the initial smoke and pollutants created by the fire. The air that is not dispersed through these holes speeds up as it rises over the fire and is released like a curtain of air over the glass, helping it to keep clean and clear of smoke stains. Many models require a twin-baffle design to achieve clean combustion, but this model stands out as one of the cleanest on the market with just a single baffle. Its innovative design minimises the risk of smoke entering the room when the door is opened, offering both efficiency and convenience. While this feature is often overlooked by prospective buyers, it’s an important detail to consider.

The Vista 500 Oval/Cylindrical is a wood burning only stove, therefore does not require a multi-fuel grate or ash pan as wood loves to burn on the base. The stove is however lined with thick 30mm vermiculite boards that protect the stoves shell and its internal steel baffle is removable for sweeping. To the side of the stove is a well engineered dial which gives an incredibly accurate degree of control over the fire as the vent plate is mechanically attached to the body. The Vista 500 Oval has a beautifully shaped cast iron door which sits upon an elegant base, giving the stove great presence which looks fantastic free-standing.This model includes the newly curved black handle, which discreetly blends into the stove while providing easy release and a tight, secure lock. . As with all parts of the Vista 500 Oval, they are well-designed and engineered, but not over-complicated. Too often, stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. We are so confident of the stoves quality, we offer a 7 year warranty.

Heat Output Range

The Vista 500 Oval/Cylindrical has a 5kw nominal output, which can make installation a lot easier as no air brick is required (for more information on air brick requirements, please click here). However, it benefits from a 3.5kw to just under 7.1kw range, meaning this stove can be suitable for a large number of spaces from small to large.

Optional Extras

  • Option: 1000mm length of matching flue.
  • Option: Ceramic glass is not covered under the guarantee for any stove on the market. Ceramic glass is fully heat resistant but will break if struck with a log, or similarly hard object. This glass is expensive, but for a small fee we are offering to guarantee it for a full year. This covers any accidental chips or cracks and photographic evidence will be required. This covers one claim only, not multiple breakages.
  • Option: Spare rope kit, glue and glass clips for servicing.
  • Option: Direct Air Feed Kit – Channels air directly from outside into the stove. This is not usually required, as models rated at 5kW or below generally do not need additional ventilation.

7 Year Guarantee

This covers the stove's body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. 6-digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS/OFTEC engineer or signed off by building control.

Stove Construction

The Vista 500 Oval/Cylinder is a “hybrid” stove and its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness and weld-ability. The door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. Having a cast iron door also enables us to add features like the shallow curves on the top and bottom. The stove weighs over 100kg.

How Are Our Prices So Good?

This is a common question we get asked, and we understand why people wonder how it can be done at such a good price. We are very unique in the way we operate and occupy the whole supply chain through the brands we own. Opposed to only selling to the trade we primarily offer trade prices direct to the end user. This completely cuts out any middle men. We can stock over 5000 stoves at any one time and ship direct to the end user with no showrooms. We always suggest prospective buyers take a look at our glowing feedback that currently has over 7000 positive comments on our stoves and stove products.

DEFRA Approved

The Vista 500 Oval has been rigorously tested and approved to burn wood in smoke controlled zones. Defra approved stoves with 5" flue outlets, like this one, can also be installed with a 5" liner. The Defra approval has been achieved by factory fitting a mechanical stop to prevent secondary air closure beyond the 8mm open position.
