TR5 Description
The Defra Approved, Eco Design Compliant Ecosy+ Ottawa TR5 is the latest edition to the very popular and well reviewed Ottawa range of stoves that is trusted by qualified stove installers and used every day. The TR5 oozes traditional stove styling, but under the skin it is a modern stove with all the efficiency and features you would expect. Its folded steel body is sandwiched between a layer of mineral cast iron panels. Steel can be precision cut to give the stove maximum control, whilst the cast iron panel gives it a traditional look and helps to retain and radiate heat long after the stove has died down.
The Technology
The Ottawa TR5 Eco has been rigorously tested and has been found to have a very low particulate output and is cleaner burning than many units costing over £1000.00 - a true testament to the quality of this fire. Full ecodesign test results have been listed in the stove specification if you want to compare the data with any other product. These new standards have been put in place in response to the government's initiatives to lower emissions from wood burning stoves, so you can rest assured that you have one of the cleanest stoves for sale in the UK.
The Ottawa TR5's body is constructed from laser cut steel that is flawlessly seam welded and then sandwiched between two mineral cast iron panels, to help radiate the heat for longer and give the stove a more traditional feel. Hung on this frame is a mineral cast iron door with a large heat-resistant viewing window and full fire retardant rope seal. This is a wood burning only stove, therefore it does not require a multi-fuel grate or ash pan as wood loves to burn on the base. The stove is however lined with thick 25mm vermiculite boards that protect the stove's shell, and its internal steel baffle is removable for sweeping. Under the stove is the simple push-pull lever that gives an incredibly accurate degree of control over the fire as the vent plate is mechanically attached to the body.
The high efficiency and low particulate output is achieved by a newly developed secondary/tertiary burn system that forces particulates to be reignited and burnt off before navigating their way around the twin baffle system. The stove also includes an airwash system that draws air in through the top vent and expels it over the glass, helping to keep it clean and clear.
The Ottawa TR5 has a quality finish and is easy and cheap to maintain (something people often forget about). Too frequently, stoves have over-complicated systems that do not stand the test of time and can be incredibly expensive and complicated to fix. We confidently offer a 5 year warranty on this product.
5 Year Guarantee
This covers the stove's body and not the internal perishable parts like grates and fire bricks. Guarantee is activated when the stove is invoiced. The 6 digit number on the top of each invoice is the warranty number. For the stove to be covered it must be installed by a HETAS engineer or signed off by building control.
Stove Construction
The TR5 is a "hybrid", stove and its body is constructed from quality Q235B carbon steel that has been chosen for its plasticity, toughness, and weldability. The base, top and door is made from very thick mineral cast iron that helps retain the heat and slowly release it into the room. The internal lining is vermiculite. The stove weighs over 80kg
